Chores as a way of teaching children responsibility:

The task of bringing up children is a very difficult and complex one. There are so many aspects that need to be taken into account in order to perform it properly and it always requires much effort and devotion. After all, it depends greatly upon the parents what kind of person their child will be as an adult. Raising your kid is hindered by the fact that most of the time you have no control over what is happening to him, be it at school or when he is playing outside with his peers. The only time when you have a direct influence on his behaviour is when he actually sits at home. One way of making sure that your child is learning how to be a person of great worth is to give him chores. Once your son or daughter receives the task of taking out the rubbish, cleaning their room once a week or washing up after dinner, they will learn a number of useful things. First of all, having chores will teach them responsibility and conscientiousness. They will know that the rest of the family depends on their help as they have different of their own. Second of all, it will teach them independence. They know that nobody will do the chores for them and it depends solely upon themselves whether the cleaning or washing-up is done or not. Giving your child specific tasks is a very simple and very effective way of shaping their character.
